SPOKANE VIRTUAL LEARNING AT FPCS
Spokane Virtual Learning (SVL) has partnered with First Presbyterian to offer an extra class for students to improve their literacy or math skills. These courses are called Strategies Courses and they are an extra dose of learning that supplements and enhances the learning happening in the classroom at First Presbyterian.
The program SVL uses for our Literacy Strategies class is Lexia Learning. It is a program that focuses on key foundational skills as well as advanced level skills to help students become strong readers and learners.
The program SVL uses for our Math Strategies class is called Dreambox. It is an adaptive math program that teaches and reinforces core content at the student’s current performance level. It can be used to assign lessons that fill in gaps in learning or to advance learning beyond grade level.
These Strategies Courses support what the students are working on in the classroom. They are individualized to each student’s needs. Students may fill gaps in knowledge or can also accelerate beyond their grade level standards. These courses are free to private school families and are a great way to get First Presbyterian students extra support and give them opportunities to excel.
